CLIP-KENYA is dedicated to making a significant and lasting impact in the lives of persons with disabilities within Kenya. At the heart of our work lies the philosophy of touching lives with compassion.
Founded in 2023 by Sospeter Aloka, a person with a disability who did not want others to face the same challenges he had faced. Based in Homa Bay County, our membership largely consists of persons with disabilities — including physical, sensory, intellectual, learning, psychosocial, neurodevelopmental, and chronic illness-related disabilities.
Candle Light Impact Program, CLIP-KENYA, is a registered community-based organization in Kenya. It was registered on 27 February 2024 (registration number DSD/43/251/02/4365) by the Directorate of Social Development, under the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs. It was also registered with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities as an organization of and for persons with disabilities on 2 September 2025 (registration number NCPWD/O/76029).
We are a registered Community-Based Organization and an organization of and for persons with disabilities.

Welcome to CLIP Kenya. CLIP exists to empower persons with disabilities through digital literacy, vocational training, advocacy and empowerment, and nurtured light mentorship. CLIP-KENYA is guided by a founder-led program team and a board committed to governance, accountability, and inclusive service for persons with disabilities.
Founder and Program Director
Sospeter Aloka is the founder and Program Director of CLIP-KENYA, with a personal understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. His vision is to empower others to overcome obstacles and find fulfilling opportunities. Sospeter holds advanced degrees in Special Needs Education from Kenyatta University and Kampala University, as well as a Master of Education in Educational Technology from Moreland University. His leadership directs CLIP-KENYA's efforts in digital literacy, vocational training, disability advocacy, mentorship, and community support, drawing from his own experiences.
Chairperson of the Board
Ogaa Collins leads the organization as the Chairperson of the Board. As an educator and advocate for disability rights, he provides crucial strategic direction, aiming to foster inclusive environments where people with disabilities have equal access to opportunities. Ogaa is dedicated to upholding strong governance, accountability, and ensuring the sustainable growth of CLIP-KENYA's mission, centered on compassion, dignity, and inclusion. He holds a Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University.
Board Secretary
Vincent Ochola serves as the Board Secretary, managing communication, maintaining records, and facilitating coordination within the board. He is a strong believer in collaborative work and in enhancing the organization's ability to serve the community effectively. He holds a Bachelor of Education in Art from Kenyatta University.
Treasurer
Quinter Kins serves as the Treasurer of CLIP-KENYA, overseeing the organization's finances with a commitment to responsible management. She ensures that CLIP-KENYA's resources are handled transparently and with careful stewardship. She holds a diploma in business management and accounting from Maseno University.
Vice Secretary
Ruth Atieno serves as the Vice Secretary of CLIP-KENYA. She supports the Board Secretary and helps coordinate board activities. She is committed to community service and strengthening the organization's work. She holds a diploma in education.
Community Outreach Coordinator
Emily Akoth leads the community outreach efforts as the Community Outreach Coordinator. She actively engages with families, communities, schools, and local partners to promote awareness of disability inclusion and to connect individuals with disabilities to essential support, services, and opportunities.
Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Advisor
Dr. Hazeezat Adewumi is a Clinical Psychologist and researcher with expertise in trauma, mental health, and psychosocial support. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families across clinical, educational, and community settings. She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Johannesburg, a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
